Twinkle Twinkle

Whenever my dad went to get the paper of a weekend when I was a child he would come home with Twinkle magazine for me and for a number of years I would get an annual for Christmas.

I was searching on eBay recently and came across a number of the annuals and decided to re-start my collection.

I love the memories they evoke when I look through them.

Halloween... Swaps and some crafting

Mum and I were overjoyed when on our shopping trip yesterday and found all the Halloween items on display in TK Maxx

.... not for much longer as we purchased them all!!

These items will be used to decorate my sister in law's Halloween themed Baby Shower




Today I managed to get some crafting done for swaps I've signed up for.

Well it's now time for me to get ready for my friends Pampered Chef party this evening... I can see a few more ££££'s being spent!

Lunch with a friend

I went round a friends house for lunch yesterday with my sister in law to make plans for her baby shower, look at the effort she put in to make the day special

Red and white was the colour scheme. Look at the gorgeous roses.

And even the pre-lunch snacks were arrange on beautiful lace table cloths

She served mashed potatoes, southern fried chicken and coleslaw.... unfortunately I was too busy eating this to take photo's of it!

Halloween Journal

Blogland is awash with Halloween craftiness and I decided to join in and create myself a Halloween journal to help keep notes for my sister in law's Halloween themed baby shower.

I've admired many altered notebooks and this is the first I've made for myself!

I've purchased 2 more books (and have another 3 on order!) to join my ever growing collection... do you think I can afford a flat with space for a craft room AND a library?!!

Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer is a fantastic trip down memory lane and is my bedtime read at the moment

Mamma Mia!!

Last night I took mum to see Mamma Mia. Despite being an Abba fan I wasn’t particularly eager to see the film but everyone kept telling me how great it was and I’m so glad I’ve seen it!

It was fantastic and if you haven’t seen it already… get to a cinema quick!

It was funnier than I expected and of course the music is great!

A Thrifty Find....

It was wet and rainy this weekend so I didn't have an opportunity to visit any boot sales but I did find this vintage icing set in one of my local charity shops!

Can't wait to have this on display in my kitchen!

Someone reminded me last week that I still haven't shown the goodies I received from Bek for the Parasol & Paper swap so I will do that this week - they're fabulous and wait till you see what she made me!

A friend gave me some vouchers for a lovely local shop which I've only just got round to spending this weekend...
