Not So Much Walked

But slipped, skidded and skated to the station this morning

I cannot tell you how icy the pavements were this morning but I made it into work and was oh so grateful for my snow day yesterday I shouldn't complain to much (esp when mum greeted me with bangers and mash this evening when I got home)

Do you want to see what I got up to on my Snow Day?

I needed to "pretty" these smaller sized recipes from magazine clippings and remembered some index cards hiding in the draw. Scissors, glue and some colourful papers and this is what I came up with

I'm quite pleased with them and speaking of recipes; I can't believe I have the cheek to still buy cookbooks after sorting through and filing this pile of recipe clippings from magazines yesterday

Hmmm so maybe I shouldn't mention the book I brought on Saturday?

What can I say?

It's an addiction and it had to be with it's pals Cakes and Cookies Galore that live with me!

I haven't shared with you that I went to see Sound of Music last Thursday

What a great show and should you have an opportunity do get tickets. My mum and I were singing to ourselves all the way home (accompanied by a singing goat we brought at the gift shop!)

I hope you're all keeping warm

Your recipe cards look so good! I always save things with a plan to "organise" them, but I never get around to doing it and end up chucking them. Must get more organised with things like that. I do cut out bits and bobs from housey mags for my inspiration scrapbook though...so at least I am trying! XX

Great way to pretty up your cut out recipes, I just glue mine in a notebook, no pretty-ing - but now inspired . . . Rachaelxo

ALWAYS good reason to mention anything related to chocolate!

Hope it's less slippy tomorrow (or erm today I suppose I should say looking at the time lol) xxx

I'm not sure what "banger and mash is, but it sounds like something that should be served with a straw, fruit skewer and a tiny umbrella. Like the cocktail on my post.
I like recipes/cards with pictures!
My frustration is when you read a recipe and have no idea what it's suppose to look like in the process or when it's completed.
You definitely can't go wrong with any chocolate recipe!

Sweet Wishes,
Sara

Hello. Shouldn't be fiddling with the computer at all but am finding so many interesting blogs today ...
I have index cards and recipes to be stuck on them but they never seem to get there - I suppose it's a matter of me having to do it then ...

Such a cute idea about the recipes! For my daughters shower I am making her a special scrapbook cookbook. I am copying and includng handwritten recipes of my Mom who has passed away and meant the world to Noelle! Well doll, stay toasty!!! Love to you, Lori

What a pretty blog you have.
Bangers and mash sound delish!
Isn't it always fun to go see a play.
Was the snow an unusual event in London? I know that roses sometimes bloom in December there, and wondered. I grew up reading all of the Miss Read books. The lifestyle always sounded so lovely. Tea is a main staple in my house.

Scary weather! The recipe cards look great.

As for the comment about the Piano, my friend did it last year. She used youtube and one of those 'Piano for dummies' books and now she is set to take a grade test. I would recommend getting your first three lessons via a teacher - but it is stupidly priced so go for a DVD or Youtube to get similar results. Good luck and let me know how you get on!

That's a good idea about the recipes. I'm actually planning on going thru' my recipe folder tomorrow (with all mag article recipes & printed recipes) & was thinking of making a scrapbook for them.

Hello!
I went to see SoM on Thursday! So glad I managed to catch it before it went on tour! It was sooooooo brilliant! I was on the verge of tears throughout most of it though! Have been listening to the soundtrack full blast this morning while doing the housework!!
