Giveaway Win

Look at what arrived for me in the post...

I won the lovely Rachael at The Rose Room's giveaway and was delighted when this beautifully wrapped package arrived

Inside was this lovely shabby chic make up bag and cute Beatrix Potter tin

Thank you Rachael!!!

And to prove it really is a small world in Blogland, Rachaels grandmother grew up near Epping Forest where I live - what a coincidence

Wishing you all a wonderful week, I'm planning to hit the boot sales on Sunday as it's been months since I last went. Fingers crossed I make some good finds

Children's Artwork

This little one has started playschool last week and her mum is starting to panic with what to do with the various pieces of artwork that are already starting to come through the door

Her mum asked me if i had any suggestions on what to do with it all, such as scrapbooks, memory boxes etc and I thought who better to ask than my friends in blogland

So, what do you do with the children's artwork?

I'd love to hear your ideas

Birthday Cookies!

It was my brothers birthday today and as he had only asked for vouchers I decided to make his favourite oatmeal and raisin cookies

I used a recipe from my new book Cookies Galore and it was so quick and easy I have to share it with you

150g plain flour
150g rolled oats
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
150g soft light brown sugar
50g raisins
1 egg, lightly beaten
125ml vegetable
4 tablespoons milk

Preheat the oven to 200c/400f/Gas mark 6
Grease a baking sheet
Mix together flour, oats, ginger, baking powder, bicarb, sugar & raisins in a large bowl

In another bowl mix together the egg, oil & milk
Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients pour in egg mixture
Mix well to make a soft dough

Place spoonfuls of the dough well apart on to the baking sheet and flatten slightly
Bake until golden, approx 10 mins

And here's some proof of their success!

Don't forget to leave a comment on my giveaway post for a gorgeous Cath Kidston bag

Mum has the blue and white spotted one and used it as a beach bag on her recent holiday which is another great idea
