Not So Much Walked

But slipped, skidded and skated to the station this morning

I cannot tell you how icy the pavements were this morning but I made it into work and was oh so grateful for my snow day yesterday I shouldn't complain to much (esp when mum greeted me with bangers and mash this evening when I got home)

I needed to "pretty" these smaller sized recipes from magazine clippings and remembered some index cards hiding in the draw. Scissors, glue and some colourful papers and this is what I came up with

I'm quite pleased with them and speaking of recipes; I can't believe I have the cheek to still buy cookbooks after sorting through and filing this pile of recipe clippings from magazines yesterday

Hmmm so maybe I shouldn't mention the book I brought on Saturday?

What can I say?

It's an addiction and it had to be with it's pals Cakes and Cookies Galore that live with me!

I haven't shared with you that I went to see Sound of Music last Thursday

What a great show and should you have an opportunity do get tickets. My mum and I were singing to ourselves all the way home (accompanied by a singing goat we brought at the gift shop!)

Swap Crafts

I never got round to showing you the completed canvas I put together for my Wizard of Oz swap partner Suzie

I really enjoyed working on this canvas and also made one for my Sweet & Sinister Swap partner Melissa

These aren't the completed projects unfortunately I was in such a rush and running behind that I forgot to photograph them before posting!

I can't believe I haven't photographed the wonderful goodies I received in the Halloween swap... let's just say they were AMAZING!!!

Cookies & Craft Day

Today was a success, I finally managed to get my Wizard of Oz swap completed

The lovely Suzie has been extremely gracious about my missing the deadline so here are some sneak peeks to wet her appetite

When I saw this recipe for Pumpkin Cookies over at Present Past Collection's blog I decided I had to give it a go (except I didn't decide until 3.50pm with 10 minutes left to run to Tesco and buy some butter)

Mum had brought a tin of pumpkin recently so strangely we had that in the cupboard. I was apprehensive about what they would taste like but was pleasantly surprised and they were a welcomed gift by friends I spent the evening with

Any UK readers who want advice on converting cup measurements into grams I found this site really useful

I also had some ingredients leftover from making my Oatmeal & Raisin cookies so ran a batch of them up too

I've been given some awards and tags which I should hopefully have for you tomorrow,

Halloween... Swaps and some crafting

Mum and I were overjoyed when on our shopping trip yesterday and found all the Halloween items on display in TK Maxx

.... not for much longer as we purchased them all!!

These items will be used to decorate my sister in law's Halloween themed Baby Shower

Halloween Journal

Blogland is awash with Halloween craftiness and I decided to join in and create myself a Halloween journal to help keep notes for my sister in law's Halloween themed baby shower.

I've admired many altered notebooks and this is the first I've made for myself!

Parasol & Paper Swap

I had been admiring swaps in blogland for a while now and when I saw Shannon hosting the Parasol & Paper swap I decide to take the plunge and join in!

I had such fun on this swap and am fast approaching my 100th post and have a little swap idea of my own!

At the moment things are quite busy socially and I'm off on holiday next weekend so think I might have to post about that end of July but I'll see how I get on.

I still have LOADS of posts to get through on google reader so I'm off to do that now!

Back from a Break

Well I've had a break from the computer for 3 days and have 138 blog posts to read through... I could be some time!

Parcels in the Post

Still on a buzz from Jessi's Childhood Toys party I started tracking down some books off eBay that I used to have as a child.

I LOVE Enid Blyton and in particularly "The Naughtiest Girl in the School" and won these last week

Also on eBay I found a lovely seller who I brought these french button cards from

see the original 40F price stamped on them!

I also got these stamps from I Am A Diva, couldn't resist Audrey and the I Love Lucy one is for my friend as she's a fan

And of course Barbie ones... these will be a great help when planning and arranging my friends Barbie themed Hen Night!

I also made Lori's son Marc's tag last night

It went off in the post today, I hope she likes it

And I FINALLY got around to making my Baby Shower invitations for my friend

It's so difficult when you don't know what sex the baby will be!

Tomorrow I'm off to visit my friend Bettina from my donut days

I just love the photo of us both!

and then Sunday I have a family birthday so it doesn't look like I'll get round the boot sales but I'm sure I'll fit some thrifting in somewhere... thankfully Bettina is a fan of thrifiting and luckily we have different styles so there's no fighting!!
