Little Girls LOVE Barbie....

but so do big ones too....

It is my friend Kelly's 30th Birthday next month as a collector of Barbies I thought I'd make the theme this year and so I was pleased when I found these old magazines which I'm sure I can pull apart and use pictures for tags and pages for wrapping.

So far I've received the Barbie game for, it's a reproduction of an old game and I thought it'll look lovely for the box alone!

Also on order are a couple of books and a Collectible Doll which I'll share with you as they arrive.

I've just returned from the boot sale, unfortunately one doesn't start for another week or two so that was disappointing but we did find another one where I was able to add to my Halloween collection with these items,

I am waiting for roast chicken to cook and after lunch I'm going to (hopefully!) get on with my Halloween scrapbook which is more than overdue!

PS Can anyone help me with my spacing on here?! I'm putting the spaces in the compose section but they're not carrying over to the actual posting? Anyone else had this problem?

Meet Carol...

Ok i'ts not very original, Carol the caroller but isn't she soooo sweet?
"Carol" came from Priscilla's fabulous shop Sweet Remembrance and you can see my post here about Carol's gentlemen friends I've also purchased. Priscilla also has 2 blogs which you can read here and here.
I'm so pleased with her and spent most of the evening walking around clutching her in my hands!
I've started investigating my boot sales again and my friends and I have planned a trip for Sunday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have some thrifty finds to share with you then.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

A bit of everything‏

I know I’m not the first to ask this question but really wouldn’t we all get so much more done if there were a few more hours in the day?

Failing that can I wish for a lottery win and the luxury of giving up work so I can happily sit at home crafting all day???

Hmmmm maybe I have more chance of having a 25 hour day!

Something which WILL make life easier is I’ve just discovered Google Reader…. (is everyone rolling their eyes right now saying “took you long enough!”?).

How fantastic is it?! Add your fave blogs and it tells you when there’s a new post to read, I was going through my favourites list, clicking on each link so you can imagine how much time I was wasting!

So what have I been up to since my last post?

Friday I wasn’t at work so was able to pop into a few charity shops, not much apart from these 2 pink ice cream dishes although I’m thinking they’ll have some sweets in them when their time for display comes along. I can’t wait to get back into the swing of car boot sales; they tend to be more fulfilling than the charity shops these days.

Although saying that, one of the shops has a huge box full of sheet music for 50p a book at the moment…. I’m still thinking about it 4 days later, maybe I should offer them something for it all?

How cute is this mug?

I picked this up in the sale, 75% off, I can see that displaying some candy canes quite nicely this Christmas & mum found this mini cookbook there too.

I ordered MORE books off Amazon which arrived in the week. I was able to watch some of Martha’s shows when holidaying in Florida last year and love Living magazine and these books are great to read, some fabulous tips that I’ll look forward to using when in my own home. Unfortunately it means all her other books have been added to my Amazon wish list!

Well Google Reader tells me I have 4 new posts to read so I'm off to do that!

What a lovely weekend!

Well Saturday I continued baking cookies & cakes...

These were for my sister-in-laws birthday party but I made some deliveries to friends that couldn't attend,

We had great fun bowling on her WII,

and came home with party bags :o)

what great fun the are!

Visits to thrift shops were fruitless although I did manage to pick up a copy of Gone With The Wind which I have been looking out for and will be off to bed shortly to watch Atonement and read the Valentine's issue of Martha Stewarts Living magazine.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend,

Party Prep... Part 1

It's Friday night which this evening meant some baking with the help of....

Tomorrow my sister in law is having a Disney Princess themed sleepover.... yes we're all 27+ but who says the kids get to have all the fun!

So far I've made a Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cheesecake....

....I am a little concerned it looks like rabbit droppings on top but I'm hopeful once it's been refridgerated overnight and cut into squares it'll look more appetising!

Not forgetting what are becoming my signature dish... Nigellas Cookies. It's handy to leave the dough overnight and then just bake and decorate the following day.

Tomorrow morning will be spent baking some cupcakes and decorating the cookies... I'll be sure to share some photos from the night on Sunday.

Lastly Dawn over at the Feathered Nest has entered herself into an art contest over at Charming Sam Studio where you can vote for the following piece of artwork,
Isn't it gorgeous!
And if us ladies in blogland would be kind enough to advertise the contest on our blogs Dawn will enter us into a giveaway to win the artwork! Who could refuse that?
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

But I don't think they're weird!

I was tagged a few weeks ago by Lisa at A Thing for Roses to list 7 weird facts about myself... the problem was I found it quite hard as I couldn't think of anything I do that was weird... I mean I'm not saying I'm perfect but well... to me they're normal!!!

So here goes!!!

I love eating wine gums and peanuts... together!

I love tidying and de-cluttering... so much so that I have been round numerous friends houses over the years to help them de-clutter or spring clean

I can't eat food with a spoon... in chinese restaurants I request a fork.... even cake I prefer eaten with a fork... only things I do eat with a spoon is yoghurts, ice cream which I think would be near impossible with a fork!

I have been know to "pretend" I am doing a cookery show when cooking and baking by myself...

I cannot sleep with wardrobe doors or draws ajar... even a slip of clothing peeking out must be hidden for me to relax....

and I cannot sleep with my curtains drawn... I actually have curtains that won't meet even if they were pulled!

And this is the biggy that all my friends gave as the answer when i asked what "weird" thing I do and it's I rub my eyebrows. I've done it for years, my grandfather done it, my uncle does and it my younger cousin has now found herself doing it! Even weirder is I even lift my right arm over my head and let it rest and stroke the left eyebrow! It's my "thumb sucking" I suppose? I do it when tired... bored... I even doing it when scrolling through your blogs!!!

Well I hope my revelations aren't too out there for you and in return I am to tag some more ladies to join in... I know some of you have done this before or maybe don't want to reveal your quirks so as such I'll allow you to feel free and tag yourselves!

Best Wishes

Victoria

Thank god it’s Friday!

Well January is behind us now and I’m feeling positive and raring to go today!

I did have plans to visit a friend this weekend but unfortunately her children are sick and we’ve had to reschedule and as disappointed as I should be I can’t help but be pleased that I have a weekend with nothing planned to myself.

January was all over the place for me so I have a lot of sorting out today; you know the sort of things, paperwork to file and cupboards to sort through.

There will be lot’s on for me over the next couple of weeks/months so I’m hoping if I can get myself in front then I’ll be able to keep on top of things and even fit in some crafting! My supplies are piling up but there are lacking in the finished product.

I’m not sure if you ladies have any thoughts on tarot readers, psychics and the like but on Wednesday I had my tarot cards read and it was another great experience.

It was just what I needed to re-confirm my thoughts and give me the motivational kick to get back to order.

I’ve found some images which I would like to scan and share with you all, if someone could drop me a mail to explain how I enable them to be used in this way that would be really helpful (you know so when you click on them they enlarge?).
Enjoy your weekend whatever you may be doing!
