One Word

WICKED

Today my sister in law and I went to see Wicked in London

I was blown away. Everyone had told me what an amazing show it was and they weren't wrong.

I was blown away by Karen Ellis who played Elphaba

Have you been lucky enough to see this show? What did you think?

What a wonderful day out! We were in London a year ago and saw Sound of Music while the rest of my family saw Wicked and they said it was *really* fantastic.

Oh my god!! I just LOVE Wicked!!! I have seen it twice - first time with Indina Menzel as Elphaba - the second time with Kerry Ellis!! I will definitely go and see it again! What was your favourite part? I love Defying Gravity!!

Have you read the book? It's worth a read - very different to the musical and much sadder ....

I'm off to see Les Mis again in a couple of weeks (saw it about 10 years ago!) and West Side Story (again!!) at the beginning of May in Birmingham with my Mum ... and Evita in October!! I just love shows!!!!

Hope you are enjoying this lovely sunny Sunday!

Love that show. Before it originally went to Broadway it started its life as a show in San Francisco with its out of town tryouts. I wanted to see it sooo bad, but only had one day to spare, couldn't take the time to make a trip from the LA area up to San Francisco. Such was my desire to see the show though, that I did something wild (something I have not repeated since). I decided to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous, and I flew up to San Francisco, saw the show (loved it!), then hopped back on a plane and flew back down to LA. As I was driving back home from the airport, I realized I could make it to Disneyland in time to see the nightly fireworks. So I did. Perfect end to a perfect, whirlwind day. A little expensive, but worth every penny for a day I will never forget.

Cute blog! You sound a lot like me! I really want to go see this show too - I used to know Geoffrey Maguire when I was a small child. I used to bombard him because he was a writer and I wanted to grow up and be one too, so I used to show him my stories and ask for feedback. He had a few books published then which were great but I'm so glad he went on to have such amazing success with this!
