Birthday Cookies!

It was my brothers birthday today and as he had only asked for vouchers I decided to make his favourite oatmeal and raisin cookies

I used a recipe from my new book Cookies Galore and it was so quick and easy I have to share it with you

150g plain flour
150g rolled oats
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
150g soft light brown sugar
50g raisins
1 egg, lightly beaten
125ml vegetable
4 tablespoons milk

Preheat the oven to 200c/400f/Gas mark 6
Grease a baking sheet
Mix together flour, oats, ginger, baking powder, bicarb, sugar & raisins in a large bowl

In another bowl mix together the egg, oil & milk
Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients pour in egg mixture
Mix well to make a soft dough

Place spoonfuls of the dough well apart on to the baking sheet and flatten slightly
Bake until golden, approx 10 mins

And here's some proof of their success!

Don't forget to leave a comment on my giveaway post for a gorgeous Cath Kidston bag

Mum has the blue and white spotted one and used it as a beach bag on her recent holiday which is another great idea

Oh No!
I tried to enlarge the photo of your brother with no sucess!
But, for what I could see he is very G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S! LOL!
By the way, I`m sorry for not posting the "mask" photos... my camera is asking for an early retirement!
Going to Argos today, to see how much for a new one!
Probably a lot!
I will let you know, when I have the post done!
Wishing you a lovely week ahead!!!

These look like great cookies ~ thanks for sharing the recipe.

I found your delightful blog via Vintage Amethyst and being a tea drinker, I had to take a look!

I hope you won't mind if I join in your giveaway ~ I've read about these bags in British magazines and I know how popular they are ~ such pretty designs too.

Do stop by and say hello. I always like to see new faces.
