Knit One

For my birthday I received Knitting for Dummies and CK knitting needles and last night mum helped me get started

My nan taught me to knit when I was younger but I was never able to cast on and off

Despite the book and a tutorial on You Tube it was my mum who showed me what to do!

Her casting on tip was much easier than the demonstrations

I'm going to wait till I get the hang and feel of knitting on a basic level before I go any further and am already joking with friends that they'll all be receiving scarves for Christmas

Beware! Knitting is extremely addictive! Before you know it you are thinking just one row of this or I just have to finish with this colour and of course start with another. I bet your friends will get scarves AND jumpers (with their initials on it) for Christmas!

Very cool! I love knitting! About all I can knit is scarves, too! That's what a lot of people got from me for Christmas one year, too! You've got a lovely set of knitting needles there. Are they bamboo? Bamboo is my favorite to knit with. I hope you show us your work! :)

Funny how knitting seems to have really become in fashion again!
Even I have thought about doing/learning it again.
I want to knit up some of those really cute dishcloths...Very mundane I know,I know...

Good luck with the knitting, can't wait to see how you get on. I've been teaching people for years...some people can & some people just don't have a clue!!! I've been knitting since I was about 5 years old & I still love it, it can calm you down after a stressful day :) x

I love knitting. I've been meaning to knit a patchwork blanket, and have just finished my first square - maybe by Christmas I'll have finished!

Thanks for commenting back! I just popped across and see you are trying to learn to knit - I want to learn too but I'm just no good with instructions. I need someone to demonstrate. It is a crime but I still have my sewing machine in its original box from 5 years ago as I can't bear the thought of instructions! Keep pestering my mum to show me how to use it! :(

Hey I also wanna learn how to knit but I heard knitting is even harder than crochet and I haven't even mastered crochet yet!

Hope you have fun knitting!

Came over from another blog - Hey, before you know it you'll be knitting sweaters! It's much easier if you have someone to show you than trying to follow the instructions that they have LOL
